Feedback on the Makeup

In terms of how the make up came out in the final product, it was not quite as high a standard as I would have liked. On the second day of filming, I didn't bring all of the things I needed to Josh's house as I was working on something at school before coming to film. I got really frustrated and had to redo the gash on my arm quite a few times. I finished it at an above average quality but then didnt have my setting spray to make sure it stayed in place, knocking it on the car door as we drove the the location. I had to try and salvage it which worked okay. I wasn't particularly happy with how it came out but when the blood was poured on it, it looked good. By the third time we went out to film, I realized I had left my blood at Josh's house, which was nowhere to be found. We had to use blood that Josh had for his photography coursework. It was good but not as good as the sugar based one that I had made. It was a lightly colour and a different consistency which ran off of the vaseline scar wax, unlike mine.

If I were to change anything it would be the goriness of the cut. Its meant to look deadly and awful. I think we would probably do four gashes across the face or neck to replicate a large creature attacking the victim. It would also look better if the person was almost unrecognizable, highlighting the lethality of the beast that attacked her. At the moment it doesn't really look as though it did much, yet somehow she dies. It would just make more sense in our plot.

After Effects - Edited Shot Anaysis

This shot was the trial shot for using Adobe After Effects. We wanted to do a trial because After Effects is typically tricky software to use. The edits made on this shot took an hour to edit, meaning that it may not be effective in terms of how much time we have left. We decided that using After Effects would be good for shots that really needed to look the most 'other-worldly' as opposed to just shots of me and my face. The purple tinge given to the haze in the background is subtle however alongside the other planets it works in dual nature to create the Sci-Fi picturesque we were looking to create.

Third Draft of Andromeda

This draft includes more of the shots, ranging from Day 1 at Bir Zekreet to Day 3 outside Josh's house. In this edit we have background music, the titles at the beginning and the contrasting shots of me in black and white. In this edit I am not sure that the music works as it gets a little bit tedious towards the end. Obviously this is just a draft and is not finished.

Our targets for our next draft are:
 - Aim for 2 minutes of content
 - Try to get a full draft, using more shots and getting to the end.
 - Incorporate titles such as "directed by..." etc
 - Focus on the pace of the film, make sure something is intriguing and that we don't lose the                  audiences interest

New Plot Summary

After realizing that we would not have enough footage to create a high quality 2 minutes worth of opening scene, we decided that we would change the plot to make it far more exciting and intriguing.

Andromeda - Plot Summary
The opening scene begins with a rover driving round a deserted planet, the words "ACADALIA PLANITIA" appear on screen. The rover stumbles upon a corpse, covered in blood with a huge gash on her arm. We then see rapid flashbacks of the girl, earlier that day, happy and smiling. It cuts back to see the girl crawling away from something, clearly distressed. We then see a POV shot of the 'creature' running towards the girl, causing her to scream and the screen cuts to black. The name ANDROMEDA fades onto the screen.
